How to promote positive images of people with special needs?

Perhaps you could tell them about special sports designed for people with physical disability. IE Sledge hockey, wheel chair basketball etc. You could also show them/ explain to them how special it is to have a working dog and all the amazing things the dogs can do and how happy it makes its master. You could find examples of famous hearing impaired people and show them how they can do things just like everyone else just maybe a little differently. If you are able to do physical activities. Blindfold the children and see if they can do a simple task. Then play music from Jeff Healy and say if you found that task difficult imagine how amazing it is to be able to play guitar so well without being able to see. you could get them to throw a ball from a sitting position and then they can see how hard it is to play a sport such as wheel chair basket ball. Emphasize what truly great talents these people have. Just suggestions, hope something can help.
