Good ideas on how to meet new ppl and friends.?

i am 21 and i want to make new friends. i have lived in Mount Vernon ohio for almost a year and only have made friends with my boyfriends family. i just want to meet new friends people i can go out with and have a few drinks with. i have no kids so i am free. i just want to meet people i can be myself around but it seems i cant find any because idont have a job or do anything but do my college cles online. can someone give me ideas on how to meet new ppl
