In theory, to what extent should Christians embrace technology and worldly possessions?

Almost all Christians talk the talk but don't walk the walk. It is this hypocrisy that most disgusts people who examine the Christian belief systems and practices. Plain and simple, they lead lives of hypocrisy and self-deceit.
