Low budget 1 week trip to New Orleans and surrounding. Any Suggestion?

I've just gotta say, bless you Canada! Y'all got people here 2 days after Katrina and gave us so much hope. I hope that when you are here someone buys y'all a drink or lunch or does something nice for you, (I always treat a Canadian when I see one), when no one else came Canada and the Cajuns did. For that I, and so many others will always be grateful.
