What happens to you in the long term if your need for emotional intimacy goes unfilled, or is even denied?

I never thought about this. I would imagine you would be settling for a less than full and happy life...believing you're worth less than you are...and possibly easily lured by other men who give you attention and affection....those are the possible consequences...sounds like you two could you marriage counseling...
